This blog is intended for my Library 2.0 class, but I also plan on including bits about what I'm reading and the daily craziness I encounter while working at the library.

A Sad Day for Children's Books
It's a sad day in the world of children's books as Jan Berenstain, who along with her husband Stan Berenstain authored The Berenstain Bears series, has passed away at the ripe old age of 88. The couple published the first Berenstain Bears book in 1962. 50 years and over 300 books later, Jan was still hard at work. Up until the day before she passed away, Jan was apparently at work on concepts and artwork for 2 new books. And although it is always sad to see a beloved author from your childhood pass away, her spirit, along with her husband's who died in 2005, will always live on through the wonderful books they created that I'm sure will continue to be loved by many more children for years to come!
